Land Use
The Civic League's Land Use & Zoning Committee looks at land use in the township with a mind for the future. It is the purpose of this committee to see that metropolitan development preserves and enhances the community's quality of life.
When zoning, building, or development issues arise, the Land Use & Zoning Committee takes action on behalf of the League to inform and educate neighbors and businesses about matters relevant to the issues at hand.
This committee meets regularly on the third Wednesday of every month at 7PM at the Community Building in Wanamaker. These meetings are open to the public, and all are encouraged to attend.
Recommended Land Use Plan
The Indianapolis Department of Metropolitan Development periodically works with the citizens of Franklin Township to establish land use recommendations. The current Franklin Township comprehensive plan was adopted in March 2006.
The 2006 map is available on the IndyGov site. (PDF)
More information about land use recommendations and the process that established these plans is available at Indianapolis Insight.
