Old Settlers Day

The 25th Annual Wanamaker Old Settlers Day Street Fair will be on Sunday, June 26, from 9 am to 4 pm, located at 8800 Southeastern Avenue (southeastern Marion County, just south off the I-74 / Post Road Exit 96).

Again this year, there will be over 100 booths with art, antiques, crafts, food, entertainment, games, community organizations and flea market items. The annual Classic Car Show will be featured on the west end.  The 15th Annual Lead the Challenge Softball Games will start at 4 pm.

The Franklin Township Civic League, at 8822 Southeastern Avenue, is the sight for all the entertainment and a great place to sit for a minute, get out of the heat and enjoy your ice cream in our air conditioned community room.  Steve Jeffris will be on hand to perform and be the emcee for the day.  The Indiana Starfire Cloggers and Gospel Singers Carl and Francie Bond and Paul and Trae McQueen will be returning this year.  Level 10 Martial Arts College will demonstrate what they do and the band Shiny Penny and the Critical Shoes will share their talent.

Our booth will feature information on the Civic League and our current projects in the community, recent issues of the Franklin Township Informer for you to read through, and membership/subscription information.  We will be selling 50/50 tickets throughout the day for your chance to take home some cash!

We will also be taking orders for 2012 Discover Indy Books.  If you order and pay for your book that day, we will give you a FREE 2011 Discover Indy book (all the coupons inside are good through the rest of the 2011 calendar year).

The Civic League will be having their 3rd Annual Gala at The Atrium on October 1, 2011.  Tickets go on sale at the street fair.  Only 50 tickets will be sold for a chance at the $3000 Cash Reverse Raffle Prize.  Tickets are $75 each and include dinner and dessert for 2 adults, 1 chance at the Raffle money, and the opportunity to play Monte Carlo games and bid on silent auction items.

At the street fair you can sign up for a new membership or renew your existing one for another year.  We will be running a deal for the day where you can sign up for 2 years at a cost of only $60, or one year for $33.  If you want to try us out for a while and see what we’re all about, we are going to offer a 6-month trial membership for just $20.

So come hang out with us, cool off and browse the paper, learn what’s going on in our great community and bring your checkbooks and extra cash.  We look forward to seeing you this year!
